Southport State High School is well renowned for its range of exceptional Excellence Programs. These programs place like minded students in a challenging and rigorous environment designed to nurture and celebrate their unique talents. Whether it is in the sporting arena, immersed in the culture of the arts or on a journey of deep thinking and problem solving in academic learning, our Excellence Programs respond to individual student talents, extending their capabilities and challenging them to be their best.
We offer Excellence Programs in three distinct areas:

Round 1 Auditions/Trials/Exams 2026
Academic Excellence Testing will be held Wednesday, 4th March. Times will be communicated out via email.

Excellence Program applications are to be submitted in person or emailed to
excellence@southportshs.eq.edu.au by the closing date 3.30pm Wednesday 25th February, 2026. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 3.30pm.
