Southport State High School is well renowned for its range of exceptional Excellence Programs. These programs place like minded students in a challenging and rigorous environment designed to nurture and celebrate their unique talents. Whether it is in the sporting arena, immersed in the culture of the arts or on a journey of deep thinking and problem solving in academic learning, our Excellence Programs respond to individual student talents, extending their capabilities and challenging them to be their best.
We offer Excellence Programs in three distinct areas:

Round 2 Auditions/Trials/Exams 2025
Academic Excellence Testing will be held Thursday, 7th August. Times will be communicated out via email.

Excellence Program applications are to be submitted in person or emailed to
excellence@southportshs.eq.edu.au by the closing date 3.30pm Wednesday 16th July, 2025. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 3.30pm.
Prior to applying* for any of our Excellence Programs you are strongly advised to read the
Excellence Programs 2026 Application Guide Round 2 to familiarise yourself with the requirements of entry into the various programs.
*Please note that the out of catchment excellence application fee is $50 for 2025 enrolments and $100 for 2026 enrolments.
The out of catchment fee is non-refundable and the preferred method of payment is via the
QKR app.
