The Southport State High School BYOD program imposes a financial cost on students and their families in supplying a device. At the same time, the program can only function if all students have access to appropriate technological resources in all their classes.
Southport State High School takes seriously the role of public education in ensuring all students have access to the same learning outcomes. The purpose of the BYOD Equity Student Loan Program is to establish the framework for the BYOD program to provide this for all students, irrespective of their families’ financial means.
Step 1:
A limited number of Equity Student Loan iPads are available for families experiencing severe financial hardship. If you wish to be considered for an equity laptop, please speak to the enrolment team or contact the your level dean.
Step 2:
A school representative will then contact. When contacted, you will be required to enter into an agreement with the school regarding the device loan and financial arragements.
Step 3:
When the contract paperwork is completed and arrangements finalised, the IT department will set up and issue the device to the student.
If there are any issues with the device during the loan, it is imperative that the family notify and the student visit the IT department immediately.
All devices will be managed by the school, and subject to announcments and notifications directly to the device asking the students to visit IT for regular check-ups.
