Annie Musical

Annie - The Musical

Little Orphan Annie finds a new home at Southport High!

Guaranteed to take you and your family back to a time of quality, entertaining theatre in schools, the Southport High Creative Arts Academy’s version of “Annie” is sure to please young and old.

This much loved musical is brought to life by the performing arts students and teachers with hit songs such as “Tomorrow” and “It’s a hard knock life”.

Riding on the back of the pending success of Hollywood child star Willow Smith’s version of “Annie” (due for release later in 2011), the Southport High version of “Annie” is just as fresh and funky.

Firmly cemented in a tradition of the arts, Southport High has set the standard for this fun loving Creative Arts Academy production with table seating and an orphanage in the round!

“We love giving the audience something they don’t expect and this year’s production is no exception,” says Director, Mrs Rachel Cutajar. “The audience gets taken on a fantastic journey to the heart of New York City’s Broadway in the 1930’s where a little orphaned girl lives in hope of finding her parents.”

Students have been in production since March and have been hard at work rehearsing.

“I was so excited to be cast in my first major role on stage as Annie,” says year 8 student Tiana Storm. “My transition from primary school, to high school and now to full musical production has been a little overwhelming but incredibly fun”.
